There are so many stores declaring that their stock is vintage. But what exactly is vintage? How do you know if you are buying something that is vintage?
I know for a fact that there are many stores that stock some vintage clothing, but keep a majority of new clothing items in the store. This clothing may reflect an era of some sort or design, but if it's brand new, it isn't vintage. This also includes 'new' clothing made from vintage fabrics.
Vintage is a term used to describe clothing that is between 20 and 100 years old. Anything older is then declared antique. So, if you have a piece of clothing from the 40's, 60's or even the early 90's is is vintage!
